Jardin du Champ Clos

We were so lucky to get a break from the deteriorating weather just long enough to spend some time in the garden of a charming Sculptor, Yann Brard.le-clan-et-l-allee-des-bonsais

His garden was full of some really wonderful and idiosyncratic sculptures, full of movement and fun. It is open every year – take a look at his website here to see more of his work.

Moncontour in Brittany

Street scene in Moncontour

One of the joys of our regular travel to Brittany is that we are able to visit our favourite places at all different times of year.

Moncontour is a lovely medieval walled town with fabulous stone and timber buildings crammed into narrow winding streets.

moncontourWe went to see what was billed as a medieval herb garden and potager which was quite small and fun.

Then we saw an Exposition signed and came upon Emma Gale and her work. Fantastic big bold paintings of one of my favourite subjects – vegetables!!

It will be a real pleasure to see Emma again on our next trip and see her latest work.
